Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, told the Official Site after today’s defeat that he thought we had a lot of possession but didn’t manage to get the ball in the net

He went on to say, ‘I thought Darlington were a big, physical side and I told the players that once they coped with that they would be able to play football.

‘I thought we did OK in the first half. But when we made changes it was a bit of a worry that it made us look weak.

‘We need to be looking to strengthen and we will be getting on with that. We need to have players with a killer instinct and today we didn’t have that

‘We were huffing and puffing a bit so I brought on Marc Newsham to change it round. I thought Marc Joseph did well in the Ian Sharps role. It does make a difference when you have players missing but we have to be able to cope with that.

‘Andy Todd had a few good chances but it wasn’t to be. The first goal was a poor one to concede from our point of view and the second was when we were pushing for an equaliser.

‘Darlington have shown us the way to go and I don’t think we were outplayed today although they were more physical than us and we have to learn to cope with that.
