Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, tonight told Radio Sheffield that he was very disappointed in Chris O’Grady’s decision not to sign a wage deferral.

He said, ‘Chris has a lot of thinking to do this weekend and maybe, he’ll come back on Monday and decide that he made a mistake.

‘Nobody likes the fact that we’ve had to sign wage deferrals but everyone else at the club has bought into it and I can’t understand his view. Under the rules he won’t be getting any wages at all although, after fourteen days, he will become a free agent. I find it a strange decision but that’s his entitlement.

‘The PFA have been in and explained everything to us. We’ve received no payment from the club and it’s not ideal and I won’t go into the details but the PFA have helped.

‘Chris, like everyone else, had everything explained to him but he refused to sign and I don’t think it is good enough.

‘I will say this – not one player is bigger than the club.’
