Rotherham United got back to winning ways on Saturday against Lincoln City at Millmoor with manager, Mark Robins, making a few changes to the team.

In came Ian Ross for his first start since the beginning of January and Robins told The Star it was justified. ‘He’s a good player and part of the squad – end of story.

‘We were looking for a winning combination and if that means I have to include certain players then that’s what will happen. Whoever it is, people have to show the desire and determination and work hard to justify their inclusion – if they don’t do that then they won’t be in my plans.’

Robins praised goalscorer, Marc Newsham and told RotherFM that he had been working hard in training all week and that he had regained his confidence. ‘With young players you find they take a dip in form and then come back and you have to keep throwing them in. His goal was important and he took it well.’

Newsham came on when Derek Holmes limped off and certainly played with the belief that he could do anything and took his chance of playing in the first team well by giving it his all.
