Rotherham United have a blank Saturday tomorrow and Manager, Mark Robins, has told his players to ‘have a clean break for a couple of days’ and come back refreshed.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Robins said, ‘We went down to Exeter and got a hard-earned draw and, after the tough run we’ve just had, that proves we are mentally tough. The players are tired and the chance to have a clean break with their families will do them no harm at all.

‘I know I keep saying this but the points penalty has had a massive impact not only on our season but also on all the staff and Tony Stewart. It’s a big thing to get points deducted in this league, but we’ve coped. There’s been big mental as well as physical pressure on our players to go out and get results and I think they all deserve some credit.

‘The Premiership clubs don’t play as many games as we have and they complain they need a break and our poor sequence of results has come at the end of a busy run of games. The players have worked their socks off and I’m proud of them.

‘When we get back from this couple of days rest we need to keep tuned in and be focused. We need to get enough points for safety because that’s always been our priority.’
