Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, is looking forward to next season, even though this one, which could be classed as a nightmare season for a new manager, has only just ended.

‘It’s been a baptism of fire, he told The Star. ‘But I can’t wait for next season because I want to achieve something here.

‘This season has certainly been an invaluable lesson in football management, although there are things I hope won’t be repeated. But I’m sure things will come out of it that will help me in the future.

‘I will reflect on this season and all that went on and come back better prepared for next season.’

Robins said he thought that everyone was not only looking forward to a break, but after the difficult season they have just endured, they needed a break.

‘Not that I’ll be having a total break,’ he carried on, ‘if it’s a total break then I’ve got the sack! I hope things get sorted out quickly and then we can start planning for next season.’
