Rotherham United progressed into the next round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy last night after, once again, beating a team in a higher league than themselves and Manager, Mark Robins thought it was deserved.

Speaking to the Official Site, Robins said, ‘I thought we played exceptionally well and it was a performance back to what this team is capable of. It was a great time to go in front, just before the break and we carried that momentum forward into the second half. It was a good cross and a great piece of movement from Drewe Broughton and a terrific finish for the first goal.

‘It was a fantastic team performance with everybody making a contribution. All the players gave a good account of themselves which was very pleasing.

‘We have beaten two very good sides in this competition and we will enjoy the victory.’

The draw for the next round of the trophy will be made on Soccer AM on Saturday, 29 November.
