Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, made his first pre-season signing on Friday evening when he fetched in midfielder Micky Cummins from Darlington.

Speaking to The Star, Robins said, ‘He’s a player who did well against us last season and I’ve always liked him.’

Cummins was one of the players that the Quakers manager, Dave Penney was forced to release after chairman, George Houghton told him to cut the wage bill at the Darlington Arena for next season.

Micky played against the Millers in both League games last season and scored in the one all draw on Boxing Day after Chris O’Grady had put the visitors in front. He played forty-six games for Darlington last season, getting four yellow cards and scoring six goals.

The Star says that Robins hopes to make two more signings this week probably a striker and a defender.
