Vital Rotherham are sad to hear the news that former Rotherham United midfielder John McGlashan has passed away.

John joined the Millers in 1994 from Peterborough and although suffering quite a lot with injuries, played around seventy-five times before being released and returning to his native Scotland.

Born in Dundee John began his career with Montrose before moving to England with Millwall, Peterborough then Rotherham.

From Rotherham he joined his boyhood idols at Dundee and also played for Ross County and Abroath before hanging up his boots in 2007.

John had spells as Manager with Millwall Lionesses, Dundee Violet, Abroath, and Tayside.

Our thoughts are with John’s family and friends at this sad time.
