Rotherham United midfielder Richie Smallwood was disappointed after losing the last game of the season on Saturday.

Speaking to The Advertiser after the five-one defeat away at Hull City, the twenty-five year old said, ‘It was disappointing especially after going one-nil up.

‘We tried our best but unfortunately it wasn’t good enough. It was hot out there and they had good movement.

‘We started brightly but they had a crazy twenty-five minute spell in the first half when they scored the majority of their goals which was disappointing.

‘Over the season it’s been a valiant effort and we’ve put a lot into it so maybe this was a game too far and under different circumstances we’d have had a better chance. Overall we have to be happy with how the season has finished.

‘In the dressing room the Gaffer reminded us of what we’ve achieved since he’s been here which has been unbelievable really.’

Richie ended the interview saying that hopefully Neil Warnock would still be the Boss next season.
