Rotherham United midfielder Richie Smallwood is looking forward to going back to the Riverside this weekend to take on his former club Middlesbrough.

Speaking to Club Call the twenty-four said, ‘It will be the first time I’ve gone back but it`s one I`m obviously looking forward to.

‘It will be a tough game. They`re having a very good season and are on the verge of promotion, at the very least the play-offs.

‘They are hard to beat, hard to score against but if we get it right with our high tempo game I think we`ll cause them a few problems.

‘I’ve still got a few friends there and I`m looking forward to seeing them. It`s going to be a proud day for me and my family.`

Born in Redcar Richie came through the Youth ranks with ‘Boro and went on to play over sixty times for the first team before joining the Millers on loan last season and signing a permanent deal in August last year.
