Rotherham United striker Alex Revell has now scored three goals in two games his last one on Saturday being against a former club.

Revs joined the Millers from Saturday`s opponents Leyton Orient in August 2011, after playing around fifty times for the O`s and scoring sixteen goals.

Speaking to The Star after scoring the winner late on against Orient on Saturday, the Millers striker said, ‘It was against my former club and you see some players not celebrating because of that, but the timing of it and the crowd reaction, well, you just can`t stop yourself.

‘It was a great ball from Richie Smallwood but I knew it was pointless to blast it so I turned and placed it.  I didn’t really see it until it hit the net and the reaction.  It`s such a great feeling to get the winner in circumstances like that.`

Having had a bit of a lean spell this season (Saturday was his eighth goal) Revs remembers when he should have scored against MK Dons back in October when he passed instead of going for goal.  ‘I should have scored,` the thirty-year old admitted, ‘and it knocked me a lot and it took me a while to come back from that.  But now, to be honest, I’ve got this inner belief and the work I’m doing with Warney (coach Paul Warne) is paying off.

‘I believe if you keep going you`ll get your rewards and luckily, at the minute, it`s working for me and I’m trying things I wouldn’t have tried before.`

Hasn’t Steve Evans been singing Alex Revell`s praises ALL season – and now it seems to be paying off! Keep it up Revs!
