Rotherham United striker Alex Revell will be delighted that he scored to help the Millers beat Bradford City to take them into the next round of the FA Cup on Saturday – but the roar his name got when his name was read out as the second scorer from the fans proves that we were all just as delighted.

Although Revs has been getting rave reviews over his play he hasn’t been putting the ball in the back of the net, getting just three goals so far this season, although, it has to be said, that he’s been the one helping the others score.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Post after the three-nil win, the thirty year old said that he came in a bit disappointed at half-time after missing a couple of chances in the first half, ‘The Gaffer was brilliant and said ‘keep going’ because you’ve been outstanding’.

‘I did and if you keep going, keep persisting and keep working hard in training every day you get your rewards. Now, I have to keep believing and keep going in to where the chances are. The more I keep getting in there, the more chances I will have to score.’

Speaking about his goal, which was the middle one of three, Alex said, ‘It was a great delivery for the goal from Micky. We had been working on that during the week and I scored two from that exact position on Friday but with my head

‘Everyone is now going to say ‘hopefully you can go on and score a couple more` but I just want to keep on playing the way I did because I know I played well today and the gaffer obviously thought the same.’
