Grimsby Reserves 3 Rotherham Reserves 0

Rotherham United sent a youngish side to Blundell Park this afternoon who played an experienced Mariners Reserve team.

First half goals from Siriki Dembele and Ty-Rhys Paul-Jones gave the hosts a two-nil lead going into half-time with a third goal coming in the second half from striker Rumarn Burrell.

But it wasn’t all bad news for the Millers with Darren Potter getting eighty minutes game time on his comeback from injury while Jerry Yates and Ben Wiles also getting some game time this afternoon – which might indicate that both, if not all three, could play some part in our away game at Plymouth at the weekend.

Speaking after the loss, Reserve Coach Matty Hamshaw told the Official Site, that he was disappointed in the performance but not unhappy with the effort the players put in.
