Rotherham United Reserves lost to Middlesbrough Reserves two-nil this afternoon.

In front of new Manager, Steve Evans, the Millers players would have been keen to impress and they started well with both Sam Hoskins and Alec Denton going close. Mitchell Rose also had a shot from just inside the penalty area that hit the outside of the post and went to safety. At the other end, Andy Warrington in the Millers goal was hardly troubled until a shot from Matthew Dolan hit the side netting from twenty-five yards out and Andrew Halliday had a shot that went just wide.

‘Boro came out much better for the second half and Warrington made an excellent save from Luke Williams while young Connor Ripley, in the home sides goal did well to hold onto a swerving shot from Paul Warne. On seventy-five minutes Cameron Park got the ball to Halliday who headed in from six yards out. Denton went close at the other end but on eighty-two minutes Curtis Main curled in from twelve yards to make it two-nil.
