Hartlepool 2 v Rotherham 4

Rotherham United Reserves inflicted Hartlepool’s first loss last night at Billingham Town

It just took ten minutes for Stephen Brogan to chip over Mark Cook in ‘pool’s goal. Jon-Andre Fredriksen should have perhaps equalised before Leon McSweeney received a pass from Jonny Rowell to slip the ball past Jamie Annerson. But a moment later, Brogan put the visitors in front again from a beautifully taken free-kick. Armann Bjornsson could have made it two-all just before half-time but was put under pressure by Annerson and shot over the bar.

The home side did, however, get their second equaliser of the game when Ben Clark headed in from a Rowell corner not long into the second half. But once again the Millers went into the lead, this time with a goal from Drewe Broughton. Billy Greulich hit the bar at the other end before Broughton clipped the ball over the oncoming Cook in the final minutes to give the Millers all three points.
