York Reserves 1 Rotherham Reserves 1

Rotherham United’s Reserve game at Bootham Crescent yesterday ended in a draw.

Both sides had chances in the first half with Raul Correia and Clovis Kamdjo having good shots for York with the visitors making City ‘keeper Luke Simpson work with shots from Kuda Muskwe and Jake Southern-Cooper. York had the chance to open the scoring when they were awarded a penalty with Louis Almond taking the spot kick only to find Millers’ ‘keeper Laurence Bilboe on good form saving with his legs. With the game in stoppage time in the first half the Millers went ahead with a curling shot from Muskwe bouncing over Simpson as he went down to settle in the net.

A the beginning of the second half A Trialist for the Millers blazed well over with only Luke Simpson to beat. Around the hour mark a cross from Louis Almond found Raul Correia who hit the ball into the net from five yards out giving Laurence Bilboe little chance. On eighty minutes substitute Tom Maguire (on for A Trialist) nearly made an impact when only some great defending stopped the Millers re-taking the lead. Minutes later a shot from Correia could have given the hosts the lead but for a good save from Bilboe before a good shot from Jerry Yates went inches past the upright.
