Rotherham United Reserves beat Sheffield Wednesday Reserves at Millmoor today with a goal from Liam King in the last ten minutes of the game

But, the game should have been over and done with before half time if the chances had been put away. Simon Harrison hit a shot straight at the Owls ‘keeper, Marc Joseph saw his shot go just over the bar and Pablo Mills had a shot well saved by Robert Burch in the Owls goal. The best shot of the first half was a thunderous shot from Ryan Taylor that hit the underside of the crossbar and came out to safety on the seventeenth minute. The only two players for the visitors who seemed to cause the Millers any problems was Etienne Esajas on the wing and Peter Gilbert at the back while Rob Burch, in goal also had a good game.

Trialist Karl Ashton was replaced in the second half with Sam Duncum who set up the goal for King. Captain Natt Kerr also went close.

All in all the Millers side never really looked troubled by a young Owls side and it was probably a good fitness excercise for both teams – as they both had players coming back from injuries.
