The man in the middle for our game on holiday Monday at Saltergate is . . .

SW MATHIESON from Cheshire

Scott’s early years of refeering were spent in and around the Stockport and the Cheshire League. He has been on the National Referees’ List since 1994 having spent the four years before that on the National List of Assistant Referees. In 2001 he officiated in the Football League Cup Final.

The last time Scott was in charge of a Millers game was at Don Valley in the second round of the Northern Section of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy when the Millers played Leeds. The televised game ended with a 4-2 win to the Millers. Ian Sharps put Rotherham into the lead and Jonathon Howson got the equaliser fifteen minutes later. Just before half-time Mark Hudson put the Millers in the lead again and three minutes into the second half, Drewe Broughton made it 3-1. Nick Fenton increased the lead on fifty-three minutes and three minutes later, Enoch Showunmi, who it was reported Ronnie Moore was interested in signing a few weeks ago, got a second for the League One side.

This season Scott Mathieson has been in charge of fifteen games and has given twenty-one yellow cards and two red cards.
