The man in charge of our Boxing Day game at Gigg Lane will be . . . .

Anthony Backhouse from Cumbria

Anthony began his refereeing at the tender age of fourteen in Cumberland rising to officiating in the Blue Square Premier League in 2012.

At the end of last season he was in the middle for the Football Conference Play-Off Final at Wembley which saw Forest Green beat Tranmere. Just a couple of weeks after that final Anthony was promoted to the National List of Referees.

This will be just Anthony’s second time in the middle for a Millers game, the first being the Checkatrade Trophy game when a Manchester City U21 side came to the New York Stadium. David Ball put the Millers ahead with Benjamin Garre sending the tie to penalties in the last minute of the game which the visitors won four-two. Anthony booked Will Vaulks from Rotherham and City’s Joel Latibeaudiere.

and
Nigel Smith from Derbyshire

The Fourth Official will be . . . .

Barry Gordon from County Durham
