The man in charge of our match on Saturday against Barnet at Don Valley is . . .

PETER QUINN from Cleveland

It was referee John Blance, Peter`s brother-in-law, who got him interested in refereeing and he was promoted to the National list of Assistant Referees and to Panel League Referee in 2005. Peter lists the Championship play-off semi-final between Crystal Palace and Bristol City, when he was an assistant referee as the best game he has officiated in.

This is Peter`s first season as a League Referee and he has been quite busy so far! In the five games he has been in charge of he has given out twelve yellow cards and two red cards – the reds were at Blundell Park when he sent off Grimsby`s Adam Proudlock and Barry Conlon in the final minute.

Assisting Peter Quinn on Saturday will be

R Atkin of Lincolnshire and
DS Bond of Lancashire

The fourth official will be

N Greenhaigh of Lancashire
