Rotherham United received an apology from referee Paul Tierney at half-time on Saturday.

Both the referee and his assistants missed a terrible lunge on Johnny Mullins, which Millers Manager, Steve Evans said was the ‘worst challenge of the day’.

‘He’s an honest guy the referee,’ the Millers Boss told MillersPlayer today, ‘but the fourth official put him right at half-time. We substituted Johnny at half-time and the referee sent his apologies to us admitting that he’d missed the incident.

‘We are grateful that it isn’t a nasty one because, we thought he could have tweaked the ligaments in his knee but thankfully it seem to be a lot less than that and he should be fit to play tomorrow.’
