Rotherham United Manager Neil Redfearn says it will be an honour to lead the Millers out at the New York Stadium this evening.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the new Millers Boss, who will be making his home bow tonight, said, ‘It’s a great honour to be Manager of Rotherham and I’m looking forward to the game.

‘We want to try and make this club a Championship club that is going to go out and compete and we’re having a look at everything.

‘Now it’s the window of opportunity for the players to show me, the Board, the supporters what they are capable of and if they want to be part of the going forward they will know that.

‘We had great support down at Brentford who really got behind the lads right until the ninety-fourth minute and the lads really appreciate that and it’s an important factor for us.

‘I was at the Cardiff game and you could see the supporters willing the ball in and the players reacted to it. From what I’ve already witnessed the supporters feel a big part of this and rightly so. They’ve witnessed quite a lot of success in recent times and we’ve got to the sharp end of it now, the tough bit, where we’re trying to establish a side who can compete at this level and then we want more success. This process is going to take time but I’m really looking forward to the challenge and I think the supporters are as well. And they know that on their day they can make a real difference to what happens on the pitch.’
