Rotherham United Manager Neil Redfearn was upbeat despite his first game as Millers Manager ending in a two-one defeat away at Brentford.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield the Millers Boss said, ‘Brentford will know they`ve been in a game and, if I`m honest, we deserved at least a point. When it went to one-one, with the chances we created, we could have gone on and got all three points.

‘It`s all about trying to get this side into a position where it feels confident and they feel good. It is going to take time. It`s a process and we are where we are because of what we`ve been doing and we`ve got to try and find a way to get ourselves out of it. It`s finding the right personnel in the right shape, in the right system to go on and get results.

‘It`s important that we start being difficult to beat and tighten things up at the back. Two goals against is a worry but you`ve got to try and get over these problems as they come.

‘I thought we were in a game that was highly competitive and entertaining. I thought there was some good stuff played and we`ve got to make sure we build on this.

‘But, as I said, on the balance of play we deserved something and I don`t think anyone can argue with that.

‘We`ve got to take a lot of heart from the performance. The lads are a bit down because they set themselves up to go and get a result but, for me, the performance was encouraging. We`ve got spirit and drive but we`ve got to find a way of playing that suits us.`

Really, Neil Redfearn, you thought that game was entertaining? All I can say is that you are easily pleased.
