Rotherham United Assistant Manager Paul Raynor said that it was important that they got the loan of Liam Ridehalgh sorted last week and has hinted that they would like him here for longer.

The twenty-one year old joined the Millers in November from Huddersfield on a three month loan but last Monday the Millers signed the full-back up until the end of the season.

Speaking to The Star, Raynes said, ‘Liam has come in and is very dependable and, after letting Laurence Wilson go it was important to get his loan extended because it has been a position where we have chopped and changed a little bit.

‘Liam is a player we like and a player we have enjoyed working with. He is a great professional and the good thing is he wants to be here.`

Liam has made seven appearances for the Millers all in the League and the Millers Assistant Manager carried on, ‘We look and analyse all the goals we concede and not too many come down that right hand side when Liam is playing. He is a steady performer.`

Asked about Liam`s future with the club Raynes said, ‘At the moment, he is still a Huddersfield player and we have to respect that. We will wait and see with that one.`
