Rotherham United centre-half, Michael Raynes expects departed striker, Adam Le Fondre to be a big hit at Reading, who he joined on Saturday.

Raynes was in the same Stockport County side as Alfie and he told Dom Howson of The Star that the twenty-four year old has improved a great deal since then.

‘I`m really pleased for Alf,` Raynes said, ‘and he deserves his chance at a higher level. At Stockport we used to call him a ‘lazy fox in the box` but now he makes better runs and shuts down defenders.

‘Reading is a big step up for him but I can`t speak highly enough about the guy and I think he will score a lot of goals there. He is probably the best finisher I have worked with in my career. I hope he gets a chance to play in the Premier League one day.`
