Rotherham United striker, Tom Pope scored his first goals for the club on Wednesday night against West Brom and is hoping that has ended his goal drought.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, the striker who was twenty-four yesterday, said, ‘The goals have been a long time coming – I didn’t seem to be able to hit a barn door – but it was nice to get off the mark.

‘The volley was pretty special but the only reason I hit it first time was because it was extra time and I was shattered! I didn’t want to be messing about with it.
West Brom had quality all over the pitch so it was a confidence boost to get a couple of goals against them.

‘These big matches are a day out for the fans but our priority is the league and now we have got to concentrate on Macclesfield tomorrow.’

Let’s hope he hits a few first time shots tomorrow at Moss Rose!
