Rotherham United Groundsman, Jim Davison and his staff alongside the Management at Don Valley have been putting in extra time this week on the pitch.

Ahead of the game against Bradford City tomorrow, Don Valley staff have been sinking holes into the playing surface to help aeriation and drainage, as well as using Profile which is a sand based substance that helps firm up the pitch.

Mr Davison told The Advertiser, ‘There was some standing water still around last week because the ground has been damp for such a long time.

‘The work that’s been done on the pitch will ensure that it’s in a better condition than it was for the last two games.

‘Sheffield International Venues have done a fantastic job.’
