Rotherham United new boy Matty Palmer has told iFOLLOW says that he should really have scored on his debut last Saturday.

Matty joined the Millers during the January transfer window from Burton, starting the game against Wimbledon on Saturday.

He had the chance to make it his dream debut but couldn’t quite get the ball in the back of the net saying, ‘I dragged it wide. But if I keep getting in those positions one will go in sooner or later.

‘I thought we could have won by more but we ground out a win and, at the end of the day, it’s three points. We got the win and managed to continue the form the lads have been on.

Asked about moving here, the twenty-two year old said, ‘They’re a great bunch of lads and all made me feel welcome, it’s a great place to be and I’m really happy to be here. There’s competition for places but hopefully I’ve come in and shown what I can do.

‘The atmosphere was great too, the fans were right behind us. It’s great to play for fans who are passionate.

‘I’m here to get promotion and get into the Championship again and I don’t see why we can’t do that.’
