Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans said the performance against Dagenham and Redbridge this afternoon at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Stadium was the worst he’s seen – and I can’t disagree with him.

It was definitely the worst display I’ve seen under Steve Evans – maybe even for a couple of years. And, I’m afraid there was nothing at all I can take as a positive from the five-nil defeat. I think in the ninety plus minutes we played today the Millers had three shots at goal – one from Frecklington and a couple from Daniel Nardiello when he came on.

The passing was pee poor. The back four were in a tangle from start to finish and the midfield was non-existent. The forwards I suppose were trying (sometimes very trying) but there was just no communication, it was very lack lustre and, being honest, it looked liked none of the players cared a damn – which is something I’m not used to saying about this Millers team.

The fans sang throughout – even at five-nil down they were singing (yes, there was moaning and groaning too) – to show they cared.

It was a long way to travel to watch eleven players who really looked like they wanted to be somewhere else – and, do you know, I wished I’d been somewhere else too.
