Rotherham United fans are being told that a deal between The Millers and Neil Warnock won’t be spoken about until the last game of the season has been put to bed.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart said, ‘Neil has done a tremendous job. It’s near on a miracle, it’s spectacular, it’s every adjective you can use. And, with that in mind, we are going into a meeting to discuss the future and keep Neil on board.’

Having gone on record last week saying that he wants to have another season in the Championship the Millers Boss also said there were other clubs after him.

‘But his heart is in Rotherham,’ Mr Stewart said.

‘What I want to agree is a contract for a year and also find out what his wants are.

‘There’s a want on both sides. Neil wants to come and we want him. But we’re in no rush and there’s no-one threatening anybody. We aren’t saying you’ve got to sign this and he’s not saying he is going to move here or there. It’s an open dialogue.

‘We’re still playing football and that’s got to be the focus.

‘Let’s win the match with Blackburn this weekend and then go to Hull and get a good result.’

Neil himself dittoed what his Chairman has said adding, ‘Opportunities might come up that seem great but might not be that great. I’m not necessarily going to go anywhere but it is interesting to see what developments are happening at the minute.

‘I do enjoy it here and I like the Chairman and that’s a big thing for me.’
