Rotherham United had to do without stalwart Johnny Mullins this afternoon at Dagenham and Redbridge.

The twenty-six year old defender picked up a hamstring injury on Tuesday and Manager, Andy Scott said he had a fitness test yesterday but was short.

‘We didn`t feel we could risk him,` Scott said after today`s game. ‘And it`s something we will have to keep assessing because it`s a day-by-day thing. It has improved but we`ll have to see if there`s a reaction to the fitness test yesterday.

‘It was obviously a big blow and we had to change our plans again but that`s the way it`s going at the moment.

Gareth Evans saw a specialist on Thursday and its relatively good news and we hope he can come back in and be back involved in the squad.`

I understand that reports of Ryan Cresswell being injured (which we got coming home on the coach this evening) were greatly exaggerated and the Millers’ skipper is fine, fit and raring to go.
