Rotherham United midfielder/winger Joe Newell says that it feels like a long week as the players get ready for their Wembley appearance.

Speaking to iFOLLOW the twenty-five year old said, ‘We’re all looking forward to it but you do want it to be sooner rather than later.  I don’t know how Shrewsbury are feeling they’ve had two weeks after their second leg, though they’ve had an unbelievable year.

‘There’s been competition for places all year and it’s something the Gaffer has spoken a lot about and, as a squad, there’s been so many good performances because we’re all kept on our toes.  So this will be a week of trying to impress.  I think it’s a credit to all of us how he can change it and it can be just as strong a team whoever he picks.

‘I had a couple of weeks out with niggly injuries so getting that game in the second leg will do my fitness a world of good and hopefully I will be nice and sharp for Sunday.

‘I have played at Wembley before with Peterborough which we won but I got sent off so hopefully that won’t happen again!  It will be a great day out for everyone.  Wembley is one of the best arenas in the world and it will be an honour to play there.

‘It’s a great day for the town and I’m sure the fans will be looking forward to it just as much as us.  We ask them again to do just what they have been doing, the support in the first leg of the semi-final was unbelievable.  There will be stages in the game when we’re under the cosh, under a bit of pressure and that’s when we will need them.’
