Rotherham United’s new ground, the New York Stadium, isn’t just for football.

Millers Chairman, Tony Stewart wants the £17m stadium, which has been built in the town centre, to be busy seven days a week.

Speaking to The Star, Mr Stewart said, ‘It will help the town tremendously regarding visitors. Everything`s coming together for Rotherham as a town and football club.

‘Most clubs struggle to afford their own existence, so we thought we would put effort into a seven-day-a-week functionality and we planning banqueting, weddings, conferences, a gym, hotel and pub.’

The stadium, which has grown up with Millers fans following it’s every move, is on the old Guest and Chrimes Site, just a stones throw from Rotherham’s former ground Millmoor.
