Rotherham United’s new Head of Recruitment might not actually have signed in yet but he has already made a number of visits to demonstrate new software costing more than £400,000.

Last week the club announced that someone had been appointed in the post but couldn’t be named as he was already in employment with another club.

In The Star today Millers Chairman Tony Stewart has said that £40,000 software outlay is only part of what the new Head of Recruitment is going to instigate behind the scenes.

‘We were bowled over by the new man we’re getting in,’ Mr Stewart told The Star

‘The new software is all about in-depth information about a potential new player – how many games has he played, does he have problems with his health, what kind of character is he, how`s his home life etc. It gives you a full, rounded view of this person so when you come to select a new signing there is less chance of it being a failure.’

Let’s hope all the money being spent on this new technology will lead to good players coming in!
