Rotherham United skipper Craig Morgan said that last night’s game was equal to getting into the play-offs by beating Preston North End at the New York Stadium.

Speaking after the two-one win that saw the Millers stay in the Championship, Morgs said, ‘It was a better feeling than going up,’ he told the Official Site.

‘It was a scrappy first half and we won’t kid ourselves because we didn’t play great football in that half but what was important was that we always had a chance to win.

‘And all credit to Reading who didn’t sit off and give up. They’ve got some good players and we had to make sure that we were on top of the game.

‘Going up is a massive thing and a year ago it was rocking against Preston but it was equal to that tonight. In my opinion this is a better achievement than going up because of how strong this division is.

‘It feels like we’ve had to work hard for it. But we knew it was going to be tough.’
