Well we didn`t lose, but it wasn`t the resounding, shout from the rooftops victory we hoped we would have seen.

Have we now “bottomed out” on this abysmal run or was it a false spring? Certainly the performance and an outstanding goal eased some worries but a victory would have eased even more. Fortunately for us, Bristol, Crewe and Torquay who were immediately below us all lost.

A team isn`t built overnight and one of the major elements that we`re trying to replace is an outstanding goal scorer. Every team`s looking for one of those! And, having enjoyed one of those for a couple of years we`re now missing that. It would appear that part of what Andy Scott`s trying to do is build not just a team but a club. He has wanted all his own staff round him, and to some degree who can blame him? You want to do the job, and do it your way. However with these requests to the chairman for your complete team comes the responsibility to deliver the end result. So now the tricky bit! We want a goal scorer but we also need to stop shipping in goals, another positive from Saturdays game, we only conceded just the one. So where does the responsibility for that shortcoming lie?

Like I said, we`ve answered some questions but not all. We`re again looking at the next game against Morecambe to see if we can get more idea of where we are. It would be nice to see Morecambe and come away smiling and a little more wise!
