Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore wants his team to tighten up defensively, then he believes they will have a real chance of getting back and staying in the top three.

Speaking to The Star, Moore said, ‘Last season we were hard to beat away from home. But, that hasn`t been the case this season because we haven`t performed as a unit as a back four when we come under pressure. We`ve got enough strength in depth to be frightening most of the sides at this level.

The Millers have lost seven of their fifteen games played away this season, conceding nineteen goals – this time last season they had lost five, although had conceded as many goals and had played a game less.

‘If we can start keeping clean sheets,` Moore carried on, ‘then we have the players who can go forward, like Ryan Taylor, Alfie, Marcus Marshall, Nicky Law and Ian Thomas-Moore, and do some damage.

‘I`m not making excuses but we have had to make changes due to injuries and suspensions and haven`t really had an established back four since the start of the season. We have had Ryan Cresswell, John Mullins, Dale Tonge and Tom Newey all out at certain stages. But, it is essential that we start defending better.`
