Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore was pleased with ‘keeper, Jamie Annerson, after he deputised for Andy Warrington on Tuesday night in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, ‘We are hoping Andy Warrington, who`s had a knee problem, is fit. Though, saying that young Jamie (Annerson) came in on Tuesday and did well, although he didn`t have that much to do. I was pleased for him because it showed that if Andy is injured there`s no reason why Jamie can`t go in goal.

‘It must be frustrating for Jamie because Andy`s been so fit he`s played in an awful lot of games. On Tuesday night he did everything right. He`s used his box well, he`s kicked the ball well and he`s come for crosses and he`s talked to the back four and I don`t think he did himself any harm.

‘As a manager you don`t really know if Andy gets injured do we go out and get an experienced ‘keeper on loan or do we give the kid a chance. Now, of what I`ve seen the other night he`ll get the opportunities to play and if Andy isn`t right for Saturday then Jamie will play.`
