Rotherham United defender, Andy Nicholas has left the club and joined Mansfield Town until the end of the season and Manager, Ronnie Moore said that Mansfield Manager David Holdsworth has been after him for most of the season.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, ‘I had a phone call from Mansfield and as he`s not really figuring at the moment we decided to let him go and get some games in until the end of the season.

‘So, that`s two players gone out now so it`s just a matter of what position and how quickly we can get someone in. I think we need to bring in another experienced centre-half to put some pressure on the players we`ve got, not that I`m saying he`d go straight into the side. And, we need a midfield player and we need pace.

‘And the people who are here have to realise that we are trying to make us a better team and if I was one of the players I`d be made up that the manager is bringing players in and to make sure it wasn`t my shirt he was taking.

‘I don`t think we will get anyone in for the Dagenham game. I`ve tried speaking to people over the weekend but it`s hard to get everything done today and come in and not even train with us but hopefully, with a little bit of luck we could do a little bit of business for next Saturday.`

David Holdsworth told mansfieldtown.net that he is delighted to welcome Andy to the Stags, saying ‘He is a very strong and capable defender and I know he is looking forward to pulling on a Mansfield jersey.`
