Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore has not given up hope on eventually signing Arnaud Mendy from Derby County.

The Millers tried to sign the midfielder on Thursday but the paperwork didn’t get through in time for the transfer deadline.

‘It was a last minute decision and we chanced it,’ Moore told Radio Sheffield, ‘but, unfortunately for us, it was the time factor.

‘We will monitor the situation and maybe something can be done next year.’

Nineteen year old Mendy joined Derby in the summer of 2008 from FC Rouen and made his first team competative debut in a victory over Sheffield Wednesday in October last year. Mendy has also been on loan at Grimsby Town where he played one game.
