Rotherham United’s First Team Coach Matty Hamshaw told David Beddows of the Rotherham Advertiser that there could be two bids going in for fresh targets next week one of which is a six-figure fee and the other which could be a six-figure fee.

Saying that although Bury striker James Vaughan had been one that the Millers had looked at Matty said that they were not the club that had been reported to have lodged a £500,000 bid as his injury record was of concern. Also interest had ended in Matt Godden of Stevenage and former Millers loanee Tom Elliott.

‘I know fans get a little bit frustrated because they think something is getting done and then it gets put back,’ Matty said. ‘But there is no point going out there ad just bringing in players willy nilly then realise three months down the line we’ve made a mistake.

‘We have a good idea what is successful down here and we have turned players down and walked away because we didn’t think they were what we wanted. If someone comes up who we’ve targeted and we need to move fast we will do.’
