Rotherham United could be without Johnny Mullins for Tuesday`s trip to Northampton after he took a hard challenge in today`s game and was replaced at half-time.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Manager, Steve Evans said, ‘We know when Johnny limps it`s painful. He`s a wonderful player for us who can play in two or three positions and we hope he`s fit for Tuesday. We`re getting to the stage where we might need to go into the loan market and bring a full-back in. And I never thought I`d say that.

He also said that he thought referee, Paul Tierney, had an ‘average` game saying, ‘The worst challenge of the day was one on Johnny Mullins. He cleared the ball and it was a corner to Burton and we`re not disputing that but the guy`s followed through and he`s snapped him on the knee and now we`ll have to wait twenty-four to forty-eight hours to see how bad it is. Johnny wanted to go out for the second half and it was my decision to remove him.`

The Millers Boss said that while he`d prefer to have his player fit for Tuesday he wasn`t unduly worried as there are ‘two or three` who he can bring in on loan. ‘I mean,` he carried on, ‘I thought we were going to have to bring in a left-back Thursday or Friday but Laurie Wilson played and I thought he was outstanding today.`

It was a horrible challenge on Johnny Mullins and I think we are lucky that he’s not a lot more injured than he is.

I thought the referee had a poor game not helped by some inefficient decisions from the linesmen.
