Rotherham United have come to a bit of a stand-still as they still wait to see if they will be given permission by Hibernian to speak to their Manager Alan Stubbs.

The Edinburgh News says that Stubbs is top of the Millers’ Chairman Tony Stewart’s wanted list with Friday seeing Rotherham make an official approach to Hibs Chief Executive Leeann Dempster.

The next step will be for Dempster to speak to Stubbs to see if he wants to move to Rotherham with it seeming that the job at the New York Stadium will be his if he wants it.

Forty-four year old Stubbs has been at Easter Road since June 2014, when he signed a two year deal, and this season helped them win the Scottish Cup.

The Hibs fans are obviously keen to keep Stubbs so it seems a little strange that the club didn’t sit him down straight after the Cup win and tie him to them for another two years – or is that just me?
