Rotherham United are thought to be one of the three League Two clubs who are trying to sign defender, John Nutter.

Nutter, who joined Gillingham, originally on loan before a permanent deal was made available to him in January 2008, is out of contract with the club who are reportedly trying to reduce their playing budget this season.

The other clubs thought to be on Nutter`s trail are, Accrington Stanley and Dagenham and Redbridge as well as League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers.

With the squad returning tomorrow after the summer break, Andy Scott will be wanting to get someone in sooner rather than later.
