Rotherham United, according to The Star, have put in a bid for ex Miller, Richie Barker.

Barker, who is currently playing with Hartlepool, has been seen watching the Millers a couple of times this season which led to speculation that he was about to return to play for the Millers.

At last evening’s Open Forum, when asked if Barker was coming back to play for Rotherham, manager, Mark Robins, said, ‘no comment.’

Sources in the North-East say that Barker is on his way back to the Millers and that Robins wants him here for Saturday’s game against Grimsby Town.

As a footnote – with Hartlepool just signing big striker, Kevin Kyle, perhaps Richie Barker is surplus to requirements?
