Rotherham United midfielder Michael O’Connor has pulled out of the Northern Ireland squad to face Turkey on Friday.

Michael has been struggling with an injury since he came back to the New York Stadium from playing for Ireland in the World Cup qualifiers in September and has only made four appearances for the Millers since.

Millers Manager Steve Evans said last week that Michael still wasn’t one hundred per cent fit and came off struggling with his thigh on seventy-five minutes in the win over Bradford City on Saturday.

Although Michael might not be fit for tomorrow nights Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game away to Hartlepool it is hoped the twenty-six year old will be in the Rotherham squad who travel to Stevenage on Saturday.
