Rotherham United will have got a shortlist drawn up and will start to interview potential new managers early next week Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas has told The Star.

‘We are looking for someone who is hardworking, conscientious, honest, enthusiastic, energetic and tactful,’ Mr Douglas said. ‘In short we are looking for someone who is going to be successful.’

It is thought that over fifty people have put in CV’s for the manager’s job and, Chairman Tony Stewart said there were some ‘ instantly recognisable names and a number of high profile candidates’ amongst them.

‘We are drawing up a shortlist of names ready to interview next week,’ Mr Douglas carried on. ‘We have the situation in hand and we aren’t ruling out having someone in place for the home game against Barnet.’
