Our recent pre-season friendly game against Burton Albion was a nil-nil draw, and, in all honesty, a typical boring nil-nil.

The result from our poll for man of the match was:

O’Grady (54%)

Todd (27%)

Holmes – D (9%)

Other (9%)

Sharps (1%)

Holmes – P (0%)

Hurst (0%)

Tonge (0%)

Chris O’Grady came out with over half of the votes and, in my opinion, was one of the players who stood out on that night. Now whether this was because of the bandage that he appeared with around his head at the start of the game (presumably from an injury sustained in the pre-match warm-up) making him stand out, or whether it was because he was perhaps one of the only players the fans could recognise after all our new signings this summer, or whether it was because of his footballing skills, we may never know.

O’Grady came to Millmoor in January this year for £65,000, previously playing for Rushdon and Diamonds, Notts County and Leicester City and scored four goals for the Millers.

Let’s hope he scores more this season – from what I have seen and been told about in the friendly games I think he will.
