Rotherham United defender, Mark Lynch told Gerry Somerton of RotherFM that he thought it was a good three points the Millers got on Saturday against Accrington Stanley.

‘I didn’t think we were ever going to score,’ the twenty seven year old said. ‘The ball hit the underside of the bar and came down on the line but luckily Warney came in at the back post and stuck it in. We wanted to be the team on the front foot but it was Accrington who had all the chances in the first half and Warrington pulled off some good saves. At half time the gaffer said he wanted us to play better and create more chances and I think we turned it round a little bit in the second half.

‘There’s going to be competition for starting places all over the show this season and we want to be at our best for every game. Luckily for us we got a late goal and all three points which all the lads are buzzing about and Paul Warne couldn’t be any happier.’
