Rotherham United’s latest signing Caolan Lavery says he was really happy to get the loan deal to the Millers over the line.

Signing until the end of the season from neighbours Sheffield United the twenty-five year old told Freeview,’Paul Warne had been tracking me for a while and I had a good conversation with him. I’m just happy to be here.

‘Knowing a few of the lads has helped and the way the team are going means it was a no brainer for me to come here.

‘I had a pretty nasty injury at the start of the season meaning I missed most of it but I’ve been fit for a while now so it’s nice to come here and be involved in the next push.

‘The boys are doing fantastically well here so I know it won’t be easy to get in the team but I’m looking forward to working hard in training and to try and earn my place.’

Asked what he would bring to the Millers, Caolan said, ‘I’m a honest lad, a hard working centre-forward and I put myself about. I like to play on the shoulder and get behind which will hopefully lead to a few goals.’
